The SC 688 device has been designed to be used as switch unit for XLD devices (V2.1 and V3.0).

The function of this device is to switch 8 streams at 2 Mbit/s, that are wired on 8 pairs of μCOAX connectors series 1.0/2.3 towards the active CLU_IMA unit.

The units, to which the SC 688 is connected, are CLU_7 (working) and CLU_8 (backup); the switch command comes from CLU_IMA backup unit (CLU_8).

The SC 688 device is in conformity with the Normative EN 60950.

The mechanical characteristics of the SC 688 are:

– Case sizes: 185 x 45 x 50 mm.

– Material: Anodised aluminium.

– Connectors device side: 4 ISO4902 female connectors.

– Connectors 2 Mbit/s line side: 16 μCOAX series 1.0/2.3 female connectors.

– Ground point: Faston on the front side.
