The TD 604R is a sub-rack device for the termination of numerical streams E1, that allows, with low costs, the connection of the local networks (LAN, routers, …) to the public network.

The modem TD 604R is designed for the activation of the procedures of the line test (ITU-T V.54) and of diagnostic of the inside electric circuits.

In case of connection to flexible multiplex (MUX-F), the TD 604R is the last regenerator of line, this functionality allows the correct diagnosis of the line in case of remote control from the Manager of the network.

The TD 604R is the rack version of the TD604T that placed inside of the sub-rack SR 588 (that contains up to a maximum of sixteen DCE-3 devices), allows the use of it in data room. The sub-rack powers the device TD 604R.

The design of the modem TD 604R is in according to the Technical Specification of TELECOM ITALIA n° 1368.

The modem TD 604R is made by two modules:

– DCE-3 device: is the functional part of the device; this device is inserted in the anterior part of the sub-rack SR 588 Teleco.

Width: 20,1 mm.; Depth: 247 mm.; Height: 261,8 mm.

– DCE-3 interface device: is the part that contains the connector’s network/user side and realizes the interface among the real module and the connections towards network/user side; this device is inserted in the back part of the sub-rack SR588 Teleco.
